Our Team
The Hoplite team has been been working together for over a year now and we're looking to make things better every chance we get. Creating things and making them come to life is our passion, and we think anyone out there with a high drive to be a part of a Minecraft server and a desire to dedicate their work to our community has an absolute place on our team. All work is done remotely and pay depends on the position.
General Expectations
All applicants should meet the following base requirements:
- Be able to speak and write English at a C1 fluency level
- Have a working microphone and ability to speak in call
- Be able to work during or adapt to US/UK working hours
- Have some experience with working on a Minecraft server or large organized team
- Have a dedicated interest in Hoplite and Minecraft servers in general
Current Openings
Operations Manager
Expectations
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams in a project management role
- Previous experience in game development or managing a Minecraft server is a strong plus
- Strong leadership skills
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Clickup, Notion, Slack) and methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum)
- Available for 20+ hours per week

Game Designer
Expectations
- 1+ years of experience working with game design
- Adequate knowledge of game mechanics and balancing
- Adequate knowledge of progression systems and math/statistics
- Extensive experience playing other games outside of Minecraft
- Available for 20+ hours per week
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Game Developer
Expectations
- 3+ years of experience with Java
- 2+ years of experience with Bukkit/Spigot API
- Basic to advanced understanding of NMS and packets
- Basic to advanced understanding of backend operations
- Available for 20-40 hours per week
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

3D Modeler
Expectations
- Experience working in the art field and commissions
- 1+ year of experience working with Blockbench and Minecraft models
- Advanced understanding of technical aspects of Minecraft models
- Basic to advanced understanding of resource packs and ModelEngine

Expectations
- Fully fluent in English and another popular language
- Experience playing Minecraft and games in general and using terms across languages
